PENGARUH PENERAPAN METODE RESITASI TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MENULIS PUISI DI KELAS VIII SMP NEGERI 8 PADANGSIDIMPUAN

The purpose of this study was to know the application of the recitation method, the ability to write poetry, and to find out whether there is a significant effect between the recitation method on the ability to write poetry in class VIII SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan. The research method used an experimental method by applying one group pretset posttest design. The research population was all the eighth grade students which consisted of 10 classes and the sample for this research was class VIII-3 which consisted of 29 students. The data collection technique used observation sheets and tests. Then the research data were processed in two stages, namely descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. Based on description analysis, the application of the recitation method had average 3.00 (good category), the ability to write the poetry before applying recitation method had average 68.07 (enough category) and after applying recitation method had average 90 (good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic showed t- calculated was more than t – table (4.71 > 1.701). It means, there is a significant influence between the application of the recitation method on the ability to write poetry in class VIII SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan.
