Abstrak

This study aims to know whether there is Bahasa Indonesia learning improvement on the topic anecdote text writing skill through contextual approach at the tenth grade students of MIA 1. The research was conducted by using Class Action Research (CAR) with 32 students as the sample.  The research consists of two cycles. The first cycle showed (a) 50% students give positive response to contextual approach, (b) the average of students’ anecdote text writing skill through contextual approach was 72.5, and (c) 45% students got minimal mastery criteria. The research was conducted to the second cycle, the result showed (a) 80% students give positive response to contextual approach,(b) the average of students’ anecdote text writing skill through contextual approach was 78.906, and (c) 75% students got minimal mastery criteria. It was concluded there is Bahasa Indonesia learning improvement on the topic anecdote text writing skill through contextual approach at the tenth grade students of MIA 1.
