Abstrak

This study aimed to find out how the offline learning process and the impact of Indonesian language subjects on students of SMP Negeri 1 Purbatua during the covid-19 pandemic. The research method used descriptive qualitative with 20 students as the object of research. The data analysis technique used data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the offline learning process for Indonesian language subjects for class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Purbatua during the Covid-19 pandemic was carried out through outdoor studies and shift learning methods. Offline learning had several positive impacts, students did not need to pay to buy internet quota and students felt happy to be able to meet face-to-face with teachers and their friends. The negative impacts of offline learning included that students were less enthusiastic about participating in the offline learning process at the teacher's house, students had difficulty finding the teacher's house, while the negative impact experienced by teachers,  they were overwhelmed by teaching students because they had to explain the same material repeatedly.
